About Me

Born in 1973 and originally from Glasgow, I was educated at the University of Paisley, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Business Information Technology in 1995. I moved to Edinburgh in 1998 to find work, and not only did I find employment, but also a wife and soon after, a daughter. I have been writing semi-professionally since that same year, successfully combining my love of writing with a career in business and I.T.

I undertook a course with the Open College of the Arts and began writing short fiction and poetry. I expanded into writing articles about music and other items of Scottish and UK interest. Soon I was being published in a wide variety of journals and magazines in print and online.

For example, some of my work has appeared in such diverse publications as This Is It Magazine, Wildchild Magazine, Zygote in my Coffee, Ultimate Hallucination, Circadian Poems, The Literary Traveler, Writer-On-Line, Interactive Dad Magazine, Keep it Coming Magazine and The Scruffy Dog Review.

I was appointed Associate Editor at The Scruffy Dog Review prior to its launch in January 2006, and have interviewed Ian Rankin and other well known Scottish writers and poets as part of my role.

In December 2007 I will be launching my own literary journal, called The Ranfurly Review. This will be issued quarterly, with me acting as Chief Editor and Publisher.
